Gifts of Love

Yesterday, I gave you some ideas for holiday gifts from Bon Lemon. Today, lets talk about gifts from the heart. I find they are perfect for the people on your list who are the hardest to buy for. A grandfather, a brother-in-law. How can they not love something you put a little piece of yourself into? So, here are some ideas for Gifts of Love. Hopefully, they inspire your own creative ideas.

1. Paint a piece of pottery at your local studio.

Many communities have paint your own pottery studios where you can go in and paint a plate, mug, dog bowl, ornament, etc. It is a fun activity (bring your kids or friends) and you end up with a personalized gift. These pieces (regardless of your artistic ability) are always crowd pleasers around the holidays.

The Painted Plate in Olympia, Washington and Stumptown Art Studio in Whitefish, Montana are great ones to check out.

2. Look to nature.

Whether it is pinecones, leaves, rocks, or whatever else your imagination can dream up, you can't go wrong with gifts inspired by nature. There are so many creative people on the internet, a quick Google search will fill your screen with lots of ideas for creative, handmade gifts. How cute are these?

3. Chore Coupons

You may have done this when you were a kid, but there is no reason you can't bring it back as an adult. Is there something your husband really doesn't like to do? Make a chore coupon. He will certainly appreciate your thoughtfulness. Would your parents love it if you came over to their house and made them dinner once a month? Make them a chore coupon. The time you get to spend together, as well as your extra efforts, will not go unnoticed.

Make your own or print some coupons online.

4. Make Memories.

My mom is always saying our gifts should be about making memories. We don't really need another shirt, but we do need to spend a weekend as a family, or go to a show together, or out to dinner. Think about a gift that makes a memory. It will be unforgettable.

Hawaii is not a bad memory :)

5. Photos

We all love photographs of our loved ones. And with printing technology these days, printing photographs couldn't be easier. You can print them at home, make a book online and have it shipped to your house, or go to your local camera shop and have them help you out. Wrap the photos up cute and you have a gift of love.

Who doesn't love that face?

Hope you enjoyed our Gifts of Love. How will you be spreading the love this year?
