Dog Therapy

This blog post isn't about the new doggy psychologist I have hired for Dolce. (Although, sometimes I think he might need one.) It isn't about a new age form of therapy revolving around dogs. This dog therapy has been around for ages.

It goes a little something like this.

Go to work/school/take care of your kids. Have stressful things happen. And then some more stressful things happen. Develop strong urge to pull your hair out/beat your head against a wall/flee to Bora Bora. Return home with a headache (could have been from beating it against the wall) and a new kink in your neck. Open the front door. Find smiling, tag wagging, loyal animal friend with nothing to say, but, "hello friend! I have missed you SO much and I am SO glad to see you." Smile. Pet said animal friend. Relax. Even if just for a moment. Relax.

I am convinced having a dog is more therapeutic than any form of therapy. (I seem to have forgotten the 6 year puppy stage when Dolce put me in therapy, but never mind that.)

This is a great shot of Dolce enjoying a Himalayan Chew today (a gift from Sweet Peach) on his sheepskin rug with the sun shining down on his back. He's not a bit spoiled.
