Bon Lemon Yellow Hair Streak

When I was 7, I got a permanent hot pink streak of color in my spiked bangs.  Oh yes, I did.  (God bless my mother for indulging my life-long affair with color.)  In more recent years, I have been lusting over Lady Gaga's yellow, Gwen Stefani's pink, and Katy Perry's rainbow of hair colors.  If I were a rock star, I would have glitter permanently affixed to each strand of my hair.  But since I am not, and I am solidly entrenched in my thirties, I wasn't sure if primary colors were something I could pull off.  In the words of 6 Par Farmer, "How many business owners and CEOs do you know with streaks of color in their hair?"  (Needless to say, 6 Par Farmer is not a fan of the color.  Or at least not yet.  ;)  

But then one day, Blonde Bombshell was shopping for sparkle at Bon Lemon and she mentioned she could do a Bon Lemon yellow streak at her salon Moda Capelli.  My wheels started turning.  And today, I got a streak of Bon Lemon yellow in my hair.  I am going to toot my own horn.  It looks rad.  

when life gives you lemons... put on something sparkly.  and get a yellow streak in your hair!

Shoes MAKE the Day

Shoes can make or break a day.  If they are uncomfortable, they can ruin even the greatest of moments.  If they are drab, they can make your fabulous outfit wilt.  And if they are comfy, detailed, amazing, interesting, and wonderful, they can make a grey day sunny, a frozen pizza taste like brick oven, and everything in your path sparkly.

After our fall and spring trunk shows, I usually buy myself a treat.  This year, it was a pair of Cole Haan Electric Yellow Oxfords.  (Are you sensing an electric yellow theme?)  I have been wanting a pair of oxfords, because they are oh-so on trend, and when I saw these with the yellow details, I knew they had to be mine.  It was not a matter or chance, but merely a matter of time.  

So, you may not want to come into the shoppe today, because you will probably want to make out with me, because these shoes are so hot.  Seriously.  Ridiculously stylish.  And electric yellow.  Don't come in.  No really.

I Want That: Donna Ashley

I found this great new designer. Her name is Donna Ashley. She makes clothing and jewelry. Her designs are edgy and fun. Affordable too! How much do you love this take on the feather fad? And I thought I was getting sick of feathers...
