I have heard this happens with blogs. You start one, and you have hundreds of ideas and interesting things to say, so you are posting ten times per day. And then about a month later, your creativity has dried up and you are writing about dermatitis or how your carpets need to be cleaned.
Well, since I am still in the honeymoon phase with my blog, I have all sorts of things to share. (Posts on skin disorders and cleaning supplies will likely commence in approximately one month.)
I thought now would be a good time to introduce Bon Lemon, because, as of now, we have a total of, wait for it, 0 followers, which would lead me to believe the only person who has any idea what Bon Lemon is is my dog Dolce Vita Evans. (Yes, he is a person.) Bon Lemon spawned out of a period in my life when there seemed to be a lot of lemons. Picked up a purported orange. Lemon. Bought a kiwi. Lemon. But as the saying goes, I kept trying to make lemonade. (Occasionally, with a little bit of vodka in it.) One of the things that always seemed to perk me up were shiny, sparkly little cocktail rings. They were inexpensive, so even the unemployed, confused, thirty-something could justify the purchase. There's nothing like a little whimsy to perk you up. I got a lot of compliments when I wore the rings (those help perk you up too), and I started thinking it might be fun to sell those little balls of joy.
While on a family shopping trip to Seattle (a bit of an Evans ritual), we saw an adorable card by http://www.bellamuse.com/ that said, "Where's the f*ing lemonade?" We couldn't stop giggling about it and the wheels started turning. The trunk show business I had been dreaming up in my head was starting to come to fruition. (Mr. Tyler Kolstad gets credit for the name. One of his favorite sayings is "bonne chance," so it was only fitting. And, we think, it is fabulous.)
This blog will keep you up to date with Bon Lemon. I have a law degree, but I never quite figured out how to conjugate verbs and every time I write affect or effect I have to google it to see which one is correct, so don't expect this blog to be a literary masterpiece. I like misusing words and grammar, just ask my legal writing teacher. :) (For beautiful language, check out http://glaciercountyhoney.wordpress.com/ which is fabulous, touching, entertaining, and perfectly worded all at once. I do not aspire to reach this level of bloggtasticness.)
My goal for this blog is to create a place to show you some of our items, tell you when and where we are having trunk shows, and get your ideas on new products. I have always had a hankering for the finer things in life, but also consider myself street smart and savvy. I like to buy pieces that are expensive and look fabulous and mix them with things that are inexpensive, but look like a million bucks. The whole Citizens jeans with Target top look. I think it makes you look classy, without wasting money on things that look cheap, but aren't. That is the inspiration behind Bon Lemon.
Our focus is to provide a well edited selection of fabulous things. To start we are focusing on jewelry and accessories, but in the future we hope to add other fabulous things. Anything really. Cashmere sweaters, throw pillows, cooking supplies, kids stuff. Pretty much anything that is fabulous and we can provide it to you at a good price. Our current product line ranges from $12-$350 with most items being under $40. The goal is to be stylish AND savvy.
I'm really excited this is all coming together. First trunk show will be in August at Spruce Skin and Wax Shoppe in Olympia. More details to come!
