Nope, it is right in my backyard. Chambers Bay Golf Course, a municipal course right on the waterfront in Pierce County, is now a world class golf course, but it once was a huge sand and gravel pit. This year it was home to the 2010 US Amateur and in 2015 they will host the US Open. No small potatoes for Washington.
My favorite part is the hilly walking path (dog friendly) that surrounds the course. Walking around the greens is the perfect way to spend a morning with 6 (sometimes 8) Par Farmer. So pretty.
