Bubbly and Bite-Sized Baked Brie |
Well, it is official. Everything cool in my life came from Pinterest. My clothes. My feel good daily affirmations. And even my food. I am obsessed with Pinterest. It is so creative and fabulous.
And it is the BEST place to get recipes. Last week, 6 Par Farmer and I decided to host a little get together, which gave me an excuse to try out some of the drool worthy things I had been pinning for the last month.
Dolce Vita Evans likes Baked Brie Bites and Bubbly... |
To start things off I made these delicious Bite-Sized Baked Brie Bites from Joy the Baker. I used some local ingredients from Wines by Wednesday. I love baked brie, but it always seems difficult to eat, so these bite-sized versions were really appealing. And not too hard either.
I am getting hungry. |
I started with puff pastry and then added some Brillat Savarin Triple Creme Brie. You might think you died and went to triple creme heaven. Try not to eat it all while you are assembling these. (Not that I would have done that or anything...)
Delicious with cheese of any kind |
Then you throw a little jam on top. I used this Black Cherry One from France that Mark carries. The perfect balance of tart and sweet. P.S. have you heard of Wines by Wednesday? They carry a great selection of reasonably priced wines and some hard to find pantry items. He is even getting in my favorite cheese: Bonrus. (I mail ordered the last batch from Florida, because everywhere in Seattle is sold out. ) Yay Mark!
See how cute the stick is? Maybe next time. |
You bake these little bundles of love in the oven and you are left with a chic, delicious app. (I skipped the stick this time, because I was worried I would make too much of a mess, but I may even attempt that next time, because it is sooo cute.) The full recipe can be found here. My Pinterest cooking didn't stop there. I went on to make the whole meal from Pinterest inspiration.
Make sure to leave them in the oven long enough... |
Spicy, sweet, and oh-so-yummy |
Crash Hot Sweet Potatoes (so, so, so delicious)
We did a spicy dry rub and teriyaki to keep everyone happy |
and Marinated Grilled Flank Steak.
Pinterest is amazing. And delicious. What have you cooked lately? Or did you order a pizza?
Also obsessed with Pinterest, and impressed with its usefulness. The blue Dawn/hot vinegar spray that everyone's been pinning just saved my nearly hard water stained beyond repair showers! Love your party offerings - yummy!
ReplyDeleteOh yum. I'm always looking for cooking inspiration, thanks! We just made chicken/chard/onion enchiladas for a dinner party. You can't ever go wrong with one pan, warm comfort food. How about you come down here and we combine efforts?
ReplyDeleteCourt, I must try that! Kate, YES!
