Are You Pinning on Pinterest?

So... Are you pinning on Pinterest yet? All of the cool kids are doing it. It is basically like ripping pages out of magazines to save all of your favorite ideas. But instead of magazines, you can "rip the pages" from all of your favorite websites online. So cool! It is a great places to find creative ideas of all shapes and sizes. Here are some of the things you will find on Pinterest:

Delicious things to cook and eat. (Those are fruit popsicles with champagne. A perfect summer fete dessert.)

Fabulous decorating ideas for your home or office. (Don't you think Bon Lemon needs that powder room?)

Images that make you smile.

Animals that make you smile.

Hairstyle ideas. (My new do.)

DIY crafts and decor. (CUTE ALERT!)

Green sequin pencil skirts. Enough said. (J.Crew 2012)

Recipes for delicious things like Sugared Cranberry Bri Bites.

Lemony frocks to channel your inner lemon lover.

Fun nail art. (We are OBSESSED with nautical.)

Dream home ideas. Love!

Lots of fabulous quotes to live by and make you giggle.

And, of course, a little bit of Bon Lemon. (Our to-die-for Heartbreaker Necklace. It's available in 5 fab colors.)

Once people start pinning, they can't stop. And it is a great way to get a sense of your friend's styles and interests. You can find these pins and many more on Bon Lemon's Pinterest Boards. Hope to see you pinning on Pinterest sometime soon!

I Want That: Bri Seeley Designs

So... I am in bed last week, thumbing through Seattle magazine. They were announcing the Seamless in Seattle winners (a contest featuring budding Northwest fashion designers.) My Tuesday night entertainment is looking up!

After turning to the page, first, I see one of my high school classmates has topped the list. (Way to go Malia and Lady Konnyaku.) And then I see Bri Seeley of Bri Seeley Designs, the winner of Best Coat, is from Olympia. How exciting! I must get more info.

I promptly got on Bri's website to check out her designs. (No, I do not sleep with my laptop. That would be weird.) Bri's website has a spattering of great stuff. I was instantly impressed by her cocktail dresses, everyday ready-to-wear pieces, and the quality of her photography. (Tres chic!) Bri was in the process of getting her online store up and running (It is working now! Click here to shop.) I wanted more info, so I contacted Bri to see where her fashions are available.

Bri was so super nice! On top of admiring her fashion sense, I totally want her to be my new friend. We have plans to meet for coffee and talk about a custom dress for the upcoming Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Washington Auction (have you purchased your tickets yet?). I am so tickled to get to meet her.

I think it is only a matter of time before we will see Bri Seeley Designs on the front page of fashion magazines. Get her designs while you can...

I especially like the award winning coat. Both colors? With statement earrings and a chunky Bon Lemon bracelet? Mmm. Hmmm.

I Want That: Bri Seeley Designs. (All of them.)

P.S. This is her. Doesn't she look fun? Love those feathers!

I Want That: Asos Kimono Sleeves

The other day, a friend of mine was lamenting how her mother always buys her clothing for gifts, and the pieces she picks are SOOO not her style. Another friend agreed. My mother, on the other hand, knows my style almost better than I know it myself. She always manages to remember something I have been pining over for years. Or she finds something so cool, I have never even heard of it. I can't remember the last time my mother bought me something and I went, "Oh...thanks mom. That is so... uh...nice." My mother would, no doubt, affirm my love for today's Daily Dose of I Want That. She knows my affinity for kimono sleeve tops and dresses. And even though I hadn't heard of it, she probably already knows about asos.com.

I discovered asos.com where I discover lots of great things: Facebook. And judging by the fact that Asos has almost 1,000,000 fans, I am not the first to discover this online fashion mecca. (I am a little slow sometimes.) But I sure am glad I stumbled upon this site. They carry a wide array of fashion forward pieces in all price points and appear to have great customer service policies. Where else can you get a coral romper for under $75?

One trend that never goes out of style (at least in my book) are kimono sleeves. I think it has a lot to do with the way they move. Every time I put on something with kimono sleeves, I feel dressed up. I feel elegant. And dainty. (Dainty isn't something I often feel.) You can imagine my lust when I did a little search for kimono sleeves on Asos and I found all of these great pieces.

I want.

This one even makes me want to be prego so I could wear maternity clothes. Okay. Not really. But it sure is cute.

GAP cuffed jeans

Franco Sarto wedge heel sandal
$60 - piperlime.gap.com

TOMS slip on boat shoes
$58 - nordstrom.com

Flip flop shoes
$46 - infinityshoes.com

Some of my recent fashion blogs have featured items I lust over. Is it likely I am going to run out and pick up the $3,000 Burberry number I have had my eye on? Um, no. Will I find something equally fabulous and pair it with some Bon Lemon accessories and a cute top I picked up at Target? Absolutely. Tory Burch meets Old Navy. Marshall's meets Nordstrom. You get the idea.

Today's fashion blog is about reality. We would all like to shop on Rodeo, or 5th Avenue, or wherever the hip place to be shopping these days is, but let's get real. This blog highlights some great pieces that are available in anytown America. There is no excuse for not looking fabulous. (Remember, Bon Lemon is only a click away.)

The Outfit

1. Tops. The new Calypso collection at Target is a great jump into summer. Love the colors. And some of their fabrics are quite good. (I am a fabric snob, and love the 100% silk pieces they did. The poplins felt nice too.)

2. Denim. Gap was a great go-to for jeans in 5th grade, but they have kept up with the trends and are a good place to find basic denim for summer. Roll them up and you will be so chic, nobody will notice they aren't designer.

3. Accessories. Aaa. And the accessories. A fun Bon Lemon cocktail ring and a pair of hammered, sterling earrings will take it to the next level. Don't leave home without your sparkle.

4. Shoes. Lastly, the footwear. Although, I have noticed some people wearing cute shoes from Target, there are certain things I do not buy at Target. I do not buy handbags, and I do not buy shoes. This might make me snobby, but I find the quality in these areas to be lacking. And with all of the cute, affordable footwear options available, why not broaden your shoe horizons.

Tom's are all the rage and for every pair you buy, they donate a pair to someone in need. Win-win. Love the Bon Lemon yellow. Rainbows are comfy and stylish and are perfect for a lazy day. If the stylish southern or Cali friends in your life haven't converted you yet, buy some of these. Havaianas aint got nothin' on Rainbows. And we all need a pair of wedges when we want to up to ante a bit. Franco Sarto and Nine West are good bets to be reasonable quality, affordable, and stylish.

Voila! An outift. Perfect for date night, grocery shopping, or book club. And you'll have money left over to spring for dinner. Yippee!
